Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently went to Delicious’s new revamped outlet at 1 Utama, which is now under a new management, Envictus International Holdings Limited, that has grown Texas Chicken and San Francisco Coffee into many Malaysians’ favorites.
Delicious is now an elegant yet grand-chic family restaurant, where the ambitious individuals behind the new eatery desire to evoke in people upon entering the well-designed cafe that Delicious is alike a nest – a touch of nature serving as a reminder to all generations that there is more out there than we have time to see.
I am impressed with the whimsically-playful interior of the new Delicious “Grand Café” – touched with a dash of green signifying flora and fauna, with its iconic image of birds flittering merrily around the flowers on the wallpaper.
“Birds are our significant symbol of Delicious which will forever be there. We associate them with families, friends, beauty and the love to sing. They are also essential to the ecology of our world today, and they symbolize what the Delicious group stands for,” explained Tan San Hui, Marketing and Communications Representative for Delicious.
One of chef’s proud creations, Saved By The Bell-acan (RM18), served with 4 pieces of flavourful fried chicken wings and Thai dipping sauce at side.
Some of the popular starters you should try including this Muchacho Nacho Platter (RM30) that served with generous portion of beef chilli con carne, guacamole, sour cream, cheese dip, jalapenos and pico de gallo.
Quirky and playful name but according to chef, this Sawa-duck-ka Salad (RM28) is their best salad seller, with mixture of colourful ingredients like shredded duck confit meat, pomelo flesh, cucumber, tomato julienne, mint, Thai basil, basil, spring onions, red chillies, sesame seeds with Thai dressing.
“Food should look real, delicious and bountiful. At Delicious, we want our customers to know that in every sense of the word, taste is everything. Our food tastes delicious, it’s tastefully done by people with good taste, and producing good quality food added with an incredible experience is what we believe in, like this Dibs on the Beef Ribs (RM55), an Australian beef ribs dish with sweet potato crisscut fries, coleslaw, corn bread and onion rings served at side,” said San Hui.
Country Roast with the Most (RM39), a tender marinated half country bird served together with mashed potato, coleslaw, and corn bread. Although need to wait for 30 minutes cooking time, but definitely worth it, one of my favourites among their new dishes!
“We want our customers to know that we are offering more than just food. We want to create an avenue where our customers feel at home. Whether it is with their friends or families, we want to arouse a feeling in all our customers that they can be comfortable in our café, and indulge in flavorful food that they find comfort in, like this Seashells by the Seashore Aglio Olio (RM42) that features fresh tiger prawns, squid, mussels, sundried tomatoes, chilli paddy, button mushroom, parsley, basil and pangrattato,” added San Hui.
Art and food are a wonderful unique combination, like this beautifully plating Panna ‘Kota’ Kinabalu (RM22), a traditional twist with bandung with vanilla ice cream served at side; they are two wonderful things consumed in different ways that it can be inspiring.
