Great news for the Korean music fans!! This year, the Seoul Music Awards (SMA) partnered up with Yippi to live broadcast their event for free to the public. This free streaming will be happening via Yippi Live within the Yippi app.

Held on 19th January 2023 at the Olympic Park’s Olympic Gymnastic Arena in Seoul, the 32nd Seoul Music Awards is one of the longest running awards ceremonies in South Korea. Hosted by the local newspaper Sports Seoul since 1990, the Seoul Music Awards is one of the biggest annual music awards in the industry.

The Seoul Music Awards honour artists of all genres from ballads, hip-hop, R&B, and bands for their professionalism and diversity over the past year. The award winners are selected based on a combination of criteria, including music sales, popular votes, and expert judges’ opinions.

K-pop fans can support their idols as some of the notable and highly-anticipated artists that are shortlisted to receive the Main Award (Bonsang) include BTS, (G)I-dle, Lim Young-woong, Blackpink, Girls’ Generation, Twice, Ateez, Kang Daniel, and Monsta X. Other awards that accept mobile voting include Rookie of the Year, Popularity Award, K-Wave Award, OST Award, Trot Award, Ballad Award, and R&B/Hip-Hop Award.
