Dim Sum has always been my favorite cuisine, and am always on the hunt for fresh and tasty dim sums at reasonable price.

“Inspired by diverse Chinese cuisine, I Love Yum Cha is a restaurant that serves traditional favorites with a modern twist. Focused on creating flavorsome dishes with fresh ingredients, our Dim Sum are crafted by our highly skilled chefs; presented in traditional bamboo steamers.”

If you are around the area of Kepong, do look out for I Love Yum Cha that located at Plaza Menjalara. With a huge signboard in bright red color hanging in front of the restaurant, it is indeed very easy to spot from the main road.

Opened its doors less than only a year, I Love Yum Cha already established as one of the popular dim sum spots in Kepong area with regular customers keep coming back for their delicious Hong Kong style dim sum and wide choices of premium Chinese tea.

The signature dim sums I will definitely order every time, which I found it fresh here at I Love Yum Cha, and the portion was not too bad, including :

Har Gau, the shrimp dumplings (RM5.50)

Siew Mai, the pork dumplings (RM4.80)

Bean Curd Sheet Roll with Thai Chilli (RM3.80)

Deep Fried Sesame Coated Mochi with Lotus Seed Paste (RM3.80)

Fully coated with my favorite sesame, this deep-fried mochi has a lotus seed paste as the filling, taste just nice not too overwhelm sweet.

Honey BBQ Pork Puff (RM4.80)

Crusty outer layer with tasty minced pork filling in honey barbeque sauce.

Durian Spring Roll (RM6.00)

If durian is your thing, this is a must order then! Looks simple but wait till you have a bite and let the irresistible aroma of rich creamy durian fill up your whole palate. Truly satisfied.

Deep Fried Salad Shrimp (RM5.50)

Deep fried till crispy golden brown at the outer layer, I love how the whole fresh shrimp oozing out its juiciness and excite my palate with much satisfaction. Simply great!

Steamed pork ribs in yam fragranced sauce, tender and juicy.

Piggy Bun (RM6.50)

Only available on Saturday and Sunday, these cute little piggy buns are in lotus paste and red bean paste filling, so adorable even the adults will love to try it.

BBQ Pork Bun with Mandarin Orange Peel (RM6.00)

Bringing simplicity to another level, the creative dim sum chef gives this classic ‘char siew bao’ an interesting twist with the addition of mandarin orange peel into the dough, giving it a nice hint of orange aroma, and I felt kinda refreshing as well while eating together with the less fatty minced pork filling.

Polo Bun (RM6.00)

Only available during Saturday and Sunday, polo bun that served here at I Love Yum Cha has fresh pineapple as the aromatic filling. I had one mouthful of it and get to tasted few bites on the cut pineapple cubes.

Stir Fried Radish Cake (RM6.00)

Love this fragrance stir fried radish cake that full of different textures, from crispy bean sprouts, preserved radish to my favorite saltiness lap cheong (preserved meat), letting the burst of aromatic flavor envelope your palate with hint of spiciness.

Bean Curd Sheets and Shrimps in Rice Noodle Roll (RM6.00) and Fried Dough in Rice Noodle Roll (RM4.80)

Wrapped within the velvety smooth rice noodle sheet, one is with my favorite shrimp paste in bean curd sheet as the filling, another one is the crispy crunch fried dough. I enjoyed how the difference layers of textures can match each other so nicely. Complimented by the own-mixed light soy sauce, it is definitely a must-try if you are here at I Love Yum Cha.

Deep Fried Black Pepper Flavored Bacon Roll and Deep Fried Squid Ball With Cheese (RM6.00)

Besides traditional dim sums, I Love Yum Cha also serves some fusion types especially caters for the younger generation’s liking.

Both deep fried homemade fresh squid ball, one drizzled with the rich in flavor creamy cheesy sauce, another wrapped with smoky bacon then drizzled with own-mixed black pepper flavored mayonnaise. To my surprise it was not too greasy, and both the sauces really compliment well the natural squid ball and bacon’s taste.

Completed with spacious seating and friendly staff, plus not too hot and stuffy environment, I Love Yum Cha is all set to tempt you with the enjoyable dim sum experience. Come, let’s yum cha!
