Thanks for the wonderful invitation, I recently went to Puratos Malaysia for their sharing event of Taste Tomorrow, the world’s largest bakery, patisserie and chocolate consumer survey that conducted in 40 countries gathering data from over 17,000 consumers.
Through in-depth insights into global and local consumers’ behaviours, attitudes and choices, this independent study carried out for Puratos offers a foodstep into the future, tracking the evolution of trends and unveiling new ones. Business owners, professional bakers, patissiers, and chocolatiers across Malaysia were attended the event to learn the unique insights into emerging consumer trends in the bakery, patisserie and chocolate sector.
The results? Fresh insights about health, convenience, experience, digital and more to stimulate innovation in the bakery, patisserie and chocolate sectors. The event also invited keynote speakers from across Asia Pacific to host breakout sessions to inspire customers’ future product development.
“To create the best finished goods and to anticipate what will come next, it is crucial to know the consumer’s needs and expectations. At Puratos, we are close to customers and consumers everywhere.” shared by Priscillia Ooi, General Manager of Puratos Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. “We turn technologies and experiences from food cultures around the world into new opportunities to help our customers to be more successful with their business,” added Priscillia.
Shane Cheng, Technical Manager of Puratos Malaysia and his team were also at the event to introduce the Tegral Satin Reduced Sugar Cake Chocolate. This new signature health and well-being product contains Belgium chocolate powder that gives the dark bittersweet taste, but with 25% sugar reduction.
Various thematic market places were also presented by the team to showcase the different products and technologies of Puratos. Being a chocolate lover myself, the Chocolat Lover Café is definitely my top favourite, where all the products featured were made by the Real Belgian Chocolate, Belcolade.
I also get to know the Cacao Trace, a unique chocolate sustainability program by Puratos – for better farmer, better cocoa and better chocolate.
If you like the good old days bread flavour, then the Authentic Sourdough Bakery section is your spot, highlighting on the various healthy bread mixes. One of the key featured ingredients was Otentic, the active bakery component, used for various bread pairing recipes and especially for making traditional baguette.
The Delectable Patisserie Salon section showcased all the fine patisserie including Tegral Satin-Velvet range, the SALP Free Cake Mixes, pairing with different filling such as fruit fillings, glazes and the non-dairy cream, to impressed customers from both visual and taste.
Aligning to the trends of health, taste and freshness, the Tomorrow Technology market place showcased interesting sensory test, highlighting various product technologies and solutions. This includes Technical Fillings which is bake, freeze and thaw stable, bakery flavours in creating the customer’s signature bread recipe and Acti-Fresh, the cake freshness solutions.
