Thanks to the wonderful invitation, I recently went to Hoshino Coffee, the star of Japan’s coffee scene, which is located in Mid Valley Megamall (opposite Starbucks).
Founded in 2011, Hoshino Coffee opened its first outlet in Saitama Prefecture, Japan and has been capturing the hearts and palates of the people around it. Currently, it has expanded to more than 180 outlets in Japan and has made their presence in Singapore, South Korea, China and now, Malaysia.
Hoshino Coffee is a culmination of the partnership between Nippon Restaurant System (NRS) and Doutor Coffee. NRS is known for its unique delectable food menu, serving more than 30 dining brands in Japan while Doutor Coffee is renowned for its coffee roasting and brewing expertise of more than 50 years, being the largest coffee chain in Japan.
The must-try beverages when visiting Hoshino Coffee are their signature Hoshino Blend Coffee (RM12.90) and Japanese Milkcoffee (RM13.90), which offers 4 combination flavours – Raspberry Chocolate, Honey Nut, Mint Chocolate, and Strawberry Banana, to enhance the drinking experience your own way.
Hoshino Coffee uses specialty-grade Arabica roasted coffee beans carefully selected by their very own coffee blend specialist Master Masahiro Kanno, and serves this specialty coffee “Hand-Dripped” with pride and devotion.
Quality is never compromised as the premium hand-dripped coffee is prepared in detail for each cup of coffee. The coffee beans are freshly roasted at the outlet for it to retain its flavour and aroma. To further enhance the taste, hot coffee is served in a pre-heated cup, while iced coffee is served in a copper mug to present the beverage in its best form.
For main courses, Hoshino Coffee’s mouth-watering menu offers a wide array of dishes to tantalize the different taste buds of their customers. If you have no idea which to order, how about their signature Hoshino Spaghetti (RM19.90), a savoury pasta served together with eggplant, chicken bacon, shimeji mushroom and chicken sausage. For carbonara lovers, remember to try their Salmon Spaghetti (RM26.90) with wasabi cream sauce. Do not worry too much as the pungent taste of wasabi is quite mild in this pasta dish, it only will leave you craving for more bites!
Hoshino Coffee also serves rice dishes and paella to fill your hunger with good taste and satisfaction, like this Hoshino Pot-Baked Curry Rice with Chicken (RM23.90), one of my favourites here that is loaded with taste-tempting Japanese curry flavours.
Have a palate for seafood? This fusion Seafood Paella (RM26.90) is certainly won’t be disappointed with fresh seafoods like squid, prawn, clam and mussel.
Originated from France, the light and airy Pot-Baked Soufflé (RM15.90) is made with fresh eggs and smooth, rich custard. You can choose between Vanilla Soufflé Custard Sauce, Vanilla Soufflé Chocolate Sauce, or my personal favourite, the Matcha Soufflé.
Other iconic dessert that will surely satisfy the sweet tooth is the thick, yet fluffy Pancake Soufflé (RM14.90 single ; RM18.90 double) with choices of maple syrup or honey syrup.
Pair the fluffy French Toast (RM17.90) with Hoshino’s premium quality coffee to complete your enjoyable dining experience in a cozy Japanese Café setting.
